Money Matters
Most people will start to feel uncertain and will even try to dodge the topic when "MONEY" is involved. Well at least that's what my experience is. But there are still a few others who are very much comfortable talking about it. Anyway, I will not be dealing with "Why this people does not want to talk about money" but rather the importance of being educated in money matters. In my own experience and study, there are so many reasons why it is important but for starters I'll be narrowing it down to at least 5 reasons. Ready?
Reason 1
Entrepreneurship and other related things are indeed being taught to students at school, well at least they (we) tried. But the reality is far from what is being taught. Money handling isn't just a simple buy-and-sell business concept. In short, after school, we're never really taught how to handle our money properly. I heard one painful line (at least as an educator, I too feel the pain), a Rockefeller once said, "Why do teachers don't teach money? Because they can't teach what they themselves don't know". Ouch!
Reason 2
You study to earn money. Students (as we all are) spend so much of our lives in schools, spending tons of our own and our parent's income to be able to earn for ourselves this "money". Now once we "own it", we have it in our hands, and what do we do next? For most us, it's simple: SPEND ALL MY SALARY! It's like giving all those hard-earned profit in exchange for things that will only last for a couple of months or years. Afterwards it’s gone and the cycle repeats itself, so when the time comes we cannot work-to-earn anymore because of age and physical limitations who will we run to? Our children? Then our children will rely on their children and so on. It's a painful cycle most of us is subject to only because we focus on studying to earn money and working to earn money but never handling money.
Reason 3
If you want to be the change you are looking for.
